Welcome to Saturday Rewind with Tamie and Elena. Check out what caught our attention this past week and what we’re looking forward to…
Elena: Another week has passed, Tamie, and Spring has already arrived. I don’t know about you, but I feel like time passes so fast as of late. But on one hand this is good, because our most anticipated books are released, book signings get announced…And speaking of book signings, one of my favorite authors, Beatriz Williams, revealed on her facebook page the book tour schedule for the trade paperback edition of A HUNDRED SUMMERS, which comes out April 1. Beatriz Williams is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of Overseas and A Hundred Summers and let me tell you that I absolutely ADORE her. I read Overseas last year and I fell in love with her writing and I couldn’t wait to put my hands on A Hundred Summers. Well, people, this book is absolutely Amazing. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved it, but I’ll try to put my feelings in a review. Oh and Beatriz is a lovely person. You can interact with her on twitter and Facebook.
Tamie: Spring…I can’t tell you how much I love that word. I’m so ready for warm weather, big, fluffy, green trees…flowers. Yeah…I’m so not a winter girl. I’m glad you brought up book signings, Elena. They’re really so much fun. It’s a chance to meet your favorite authors, and to meet others who share your love of books. I encourage anybody and everybody to attend them if you’re able. Book Bash was such a huge event for me last year, and I’m really looking forward to it again this year.
Speaking of books that we’re highly anticipating and of authors we flove…Tammara Webber released another Breakable teaser this week. You can view it on her website here. Honestly, I want this book so bad it’s like waiting on Christmas!!!
Elena: Perfectly stated, Tamie! The anticipation is killing me! AND…you guys! You can read an exclusive interview with JAMIE DORNAN, the actor that plays our beloved Christian Grey, on The Telegraph. There are also some handsome pictures of him in the article, so enjoy… ;)
Tamie: Love the interview, and of course any photo’s are always welcome ;) We still have lots of time before the movie version of FSoG releases, but there’s something else I’m dying to see and it’ll be here in just a few more months. The making of Outlander by STARZ looks like it’s going to be phenomenal, and I have lots of twitter buddies who are just as eager as I am to watch this book we love come to life on the small screen. The teasers and interviews all look fantastic. I’m so glad it’s being done as a TV series rather than a movie because I think it’s really the only way to do the book justice. There’s no way a 2 hour movie could even come close.
Elena: I absolutely agree. I think a movie version would have ruined the book, not because the movie wouldn’t have been good, but because they would have left out so many crucial parts, and when something like this happens it just ruins the story.
Tamie: In other book and author news this week…Colleen Hoover‘s much anticipated book Maybe Someday released this past Tuesday. I haven’t read it yet, but plan to this week. Also, another of our favorites…Sylvain Reynard is writing a series of posts on his website about…writing. You can read the first one here. He’s inviting questions on the subject of writing as well…yes…of course I asked a couple of my own on twitter ;) I may not be a novelist but I’m still fascinated by what goes into writing the stories I love to read.
In my Throwback Thursday post this week I discussed a series that is near and dear to my heart…the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. After talking about it guess what I did? I started a reread, and am really enjoying the journey of Barrons and Mac once more. What are you reading this week Elena?
Elena: This past week I finished A Hundred Summers and now I’ll start Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn. I really enjoyed her book Back To You and I can’t wait to start this one. Several peeps are raving about it, so I think it’ll be a good one. And speaking of rereads, I often do them as well. I think rereading a book gives you so much more than reading it just once. Every time I reread a novel, I get something new out of it.
Tamie: One last thing…don’t forget to enter the giveaway for a signed book from Alice Clayton we have going on. You have a chance to win either Wallbanger or Rusty Nailed if you comment on the giveaway post here.
Have a great weekend peeps!
