Hey peeps! I’m sure you’re as excited as I am for what we have in store for you today!

The lovely JM Darhower is sharing an exclusive teaser from the sequel to Sempre! I squeed out loud when she told me ;)

Sempre is a book I highly recommend ( you can find my review here) and if you haven’t read it yet, what are you waiting for?? Carmine and Haven’s story will conquer your heart, trust me ;)

I know, I know, you’re all  telling me  “Elena, shut up, will ya? Give us the teaser already!”

So,  let’s give JM Darhower a warm welcome, everyone!

Hey, pretty ladies (and handsome gents)!

When the lovely folks here at Bookish Temptations approached me about guest blogging for their Blogiversary, I was absolutely honored and said an excited ‘hell yes!’ without even having to think about it. We set it up and I thought about a dozen topics (Villains! Heroes! Mary Sues! Dialogue! Descriptions! Being concise!) but then… then… then…

…then came time for me to actually write something.

And for the first time in quite a while (maybe ever?), I, long-winded and opinionated JM Darhower, am at a loss for words. My life right now pretty much revolves around writing the sequel to my novel Sempre.  I have a fast approaching deadline for edits to begin, so right now I focus on and think mostly about Carmine, and Haven, and Vincent, and Corrado, and Celia… who does what, why, what they say, where they go, how it all ends (which, might I say, will likely surprise even those who *think* they know how it ends) so I thought—why not just give them that? Why not give them a bit of what I’ve been working on?

So without further ado, here’s a teaser from the upcoming sequel:

It didn’t take long, only a moment or two, before Vincent heard footsteps behind him in the church. They were subtle, undetectable to ears that weren’t trained to listen to the dangers carried by the wind. He hadn’t seen Father Alberto in quite some time—not since he’d spilled his soul, letting loose all of his deepest, darkest demons—but he needed the man now. He needed his guidance and his support. He needed to know that sometimes it was okay to do something immoral in order to spare others from suffering. Two wrongs don’t make a right, he knew that, but he couldn’t help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, one inconceivable wrong could be forgiven if it set everything straight again.

Vincent bowed his head as he closed his tired eyes, sullenly making the sign of the cross.  “Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.”

“What else is new?”

Vincent’s eyes snapped open at the sound of the voice, low yet striking, entirely detached and frighteningly familiar. Guarded, Vincent’s heart pounded as hard as a bass drum when he turned around, coming-face-to-face with the last person he’d expected to encounter tonight.

Thanks again, everyone :) Can’t wait to have the book finished and out to you guys! But for now, back to my writing hole to work on finishing the first draft.
